A result is part of a larger assessment
The doctor considers history, examination and results together. Ask the treating specialist to explain an abnormality rather than interpreting it from an isolated internet search.
Images and their written report
The CT or MRI report matters, but the hospital may also request the original images. Clarify format, date and access; do not order new tests yourself.
Biopsy and pathology
A biopsy obtains a tissue sample; pathology assesses it. A centre may request a report, slides or blocks for review. Agree transport and handover arrangements with the laboratory.
What would another test change?
If another test is proposed, ask its purpose, effect on the plan, cost and timing. Molecular testing does not help every patient equally; the oncologist assesses relevance.
